Officials with Knox County Indiana Economic Development today announced Mary Jo Wallin-Orlowski as its new director of business development.

Wallin-Orlowski joins the community with an “extensive background in business and economic development leadership,” according to a release issued by the organization.

“We are extremely pleased to welcome Mary Jo to our growing team, and are confident she will have a significantly positive impact on our mission and community,” said Chris Pfaff, CEO of Knox Economic Development.

In addition to years of economic development experience, she is also affiliated with, and has contributed to, both the Indiana and National Chamber Executive Associations.

“Knox County is a strong community with outstanding business, education and government leadership, and I am eager to begin this new chapter,” said Wallin-Orlowski in the release. “I look forward to helping build productive and lasting relationships throughout the region.”

Wallin-Orlowski holds an undergraduate degree from Indiana State University and a master’s degree from Indiana University in Bloomington.

She has also previously served on the board of directors for the Economic Development Corporation of Michigan City, the LaPorte County Manufacturers Association, and the Stone Belt ARC in Bloomington, among other community and civic organizations.
