Knox County is the home of Vincennes University, which offers a variety of workforce development and training opportunities for employers and employees.

Local Programs

Knox County Community Investment Initiative 

The Community Investment Initiative offers grants to eligible organizations and groups within Knox County, Indiana, with the goal to support projects that enhance the quality of life, increase community capacity, foster relationships among local organizations, and build collective efforts for improvement.

Projects must be geographically defined within Knox County and contribute to an improved quality of place. Eligible grantees include non-profit organizations, community groups, and non-governmental organizations operating within Knox County.

Creating Entrepreneurial Opportunities (CEO)

CEO is a year-long course designed to utilize partnerships that provide an overview of business development and processes. The local business community partners with area schools to create project based experiences for students by providing funding, expertise, meeting space, business tours and one-on-one mentoring.

Students visit area businesses, learn from guest speakers, participate in a class business, write business plans, and start and operate their own business.
