With a ribbon-cutting in August, the Little Alice Learning Center in Vincennes advanced available child care services for Knox County. “This new development helps address important needs for our workforce,” said Chris Pfaff, CEO of Knox County Indiana Economic Development. “We are grateful to see this facility open its doors and provide the teaching of fundamental skills for our area children while allowing more parents to be part of our active workforce.”

According to coverage in the Vincennes Sun-Commercial, the new center features a total of six classrooms, a teacher workroom, Sodexo meals and snacks on site, a secure playground, security and surveillance throughout the building and the Creative Curriculum from Teaching Strategies.

Located at 2010 College Avenue in Vincennes (adjacent to the YMCA), the new facility offers 72 seats for children aged 3-4. All seats have been filled for the fall 2024 term.

The new child care facility was funded from a $750,000 grant awarded to the Knox County Life Enrichment Foundation (KCLEF) from the Indiana Family Social Services Administration’s Office of Early Childhood and Out-of-School Learning. The state partnered with the Indiana Chamber and the Indiana Manufacturing Association for the program.
