New market rate housing – About 30 local officials, including Vincennes Mayor Joe Yochum, joined Bierhaus Flats developers Oct. 7 for a ribbon cutting of the $35 million housing project. As of early October 2026, about 50% of the 240 total units are complete. “It’s exciting to see people responding well to the new 1-3 bedroom options as Bierhaus Flats leases up,” said Chris Pfaff, CEO of Knox County Indiana Economic Development.
Bierhaus Property Manager Joshua Woods noted that about 80% of current open inventory has been leased since the facility first opened in the summer of 2026, with two- and three-bedroom apartments still available. The one bedroom apartments currently are the most popular, and additional one bedroom apartments will be available for lease in January 2027.
